Youngest daughter had called me last Thursday at midnight; she said that she was coming up with the grandchildren to see her mother in law has who has cancer. She asked if she could stop by and maybe go out and to the train -thing. I said that would be great. Yesterday we had numerous call offs and 0700-1500 was open and I offered to work that instead of my usual noon to eight. Command staff agreed. Due to another call off 1500-2300 was still open. I told them IF I can have Tuesday off I will work the double. What a tremendous use of a day off; to spend with the youngest and the grandchildren. Sunshine was aplenty and so were the trains. Pictures one and two are of the NS 778, loaded coal for North Carolina (PGNX), seen passing the former PRR Depot in Massillon, Ohio. The train had 210 cars, 31,000 tons and a 2x3x2 configuration. Picture number three is of the 16N in Alliance, Ohio. We had chased the NS 778 from Alliance to Massillon as we did not get a picture then. So glad that my grandchildren can enjoy the hobby as the granddaughter turned her head to see the "horse" again. The only money spent was for some drinks. I am truly blessed...

Indeed!!!    So nice to infect the young'ns with the love of trains.

Glad you could spend some quality time to share railfanning with your Daughter and Grandkids. I have married children, but no Grandkids (yet) to spoil, maybe someday!
