I arrive here about 09:30, just in time to see the rear of e/b CSXT M415 departing off #4 Runner to #2 Main. 1. The e/b CSXT M407 is led at 09:39 by ES44AHs #954 + #3072. M407 doesn’t get very far because M415 is in emergency between Tuscarora and the Lander intermediate signal. I decide to get ahead of the trains. Barnesville The cause of M415’s emergency is train separation due to a pulled coupler knuckle. 2. At 11:28 e/b CSXT M415 led by ES44AH #3226 + ES40DC #5480 struggles up Barnesville Hill in the rain on #1 Main with 3. M407 catching up fast. However, M407 stops at Bucklodge crossovers east of Barnesville, and M415 crosses to #2 Main in front of it. 4. At 11:49 e/b CSXT M405 (300 axles) led by ET44AHs #3271 + #3334 5. passes a red over red intermediate signal, slows to restricted speed and stops behind M407 stopped at Bucklodge. To add to the fun, Amtrak 41 departs Harpers Ferry at 11:35, four minutes late. 6. At 11:57 w/b CSXT M416 (602 axles and a crew short on time) passes the rear of M405 led by Gerry ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 05/10/25 09:00 Re: Brunswick & Barnesville, Maryland, 5/9/25 Author: GPutz Barnesville
7. CM44AC #7318, no info about its rebuild, + CW44AC #435, built 7//00, + CM44AH #7419, rebuilt from CW44AH #504 built 5//01. 8. At 12:05 the rear of M416 passes as Amtrak 41 approaches slowly. 9. This one is for engineer Ryan: Amtrak 41 is led by ALC-42s #317 + #365. Amtrak 41 passes here about 12:00, if it’s on time, but today it has M415, M407 and M405 ahead of it and CSXT I135 coming w/b. 10. The w/b CSXT I135 is led at 13:35 by ES44AH #964 on #2 Main with 11. DPU SD70AC #4588, built 5//98 as CR #4143, to CSXT #788, renumbered #4588. 12. The w/b M416, now 626 axles after picking up SD70AC #4731 + ES44AH #3146 + ET44AH #3338 + CW44AC #62, built 2//95, is on #5 Runner going to #3 Runner to tie down at South Mountain Road in Knoxville awaiting a recrew. 13. The w/b CSXT M369 (I think) is led by ET44AH #3375 + ES44AH #824 + CW44AH #525, built 7//01, + ES44AHs #779 + #982 with 14. DPU ES44AH #3200. 15. MARC 871 led by MP36PH-3C #15 arrives at 14:44, 20 minutes early. You must have one of the largest collections of photos of anyone else who displays them here on Trainorders.
John in White Marsh, Maryland Date: 05/10/25 14:14 Re: Brunswick & Barnesville, Maryland, 5/9/25 Author: GPutz John, thanks for your compliments. I have just over 104,000 digital pictures (about 25% taken in Brunswick) taken since 9//00 and about 15,500 digital scans of prints, negatives and slides. I know that's not a record for the scans. Some railfans have over 100,000 negatives and slides, and digital pictures are really cheap, except for travel expensive, after you buy the camera. Gerry
