Eastern Railroad Discussion > KCS line to BirminghamDate: 06/25/25 19:33 KCS line to Birmingham Author: GN1969 In reading older Trains articles about the east/west MidSouth Rail franchise that KCS acquired in 1993 I saw there was a branch line that gave KCS access from Artesian, MS to Tuscaloosa and Brookwood in Alabama with rights continuing into Birmingham on the L&N. Is this line from Artesian still active on the present day CPKC?

I don't recall exactly when CSX sold off the segment between Tuscaloosa and Brookwood
