8102 leading 12Z through Virginia
Author: B-LineRailfan

NS ES-44AC 8102 (the Pennsylvania Railroad heritage unit) led train 12Z today northward on the ex-N&W Shenandoah Valley line through Front Royal, Virginia. The units consisted of ES-44AC 8102 and ET44AC 3608 on the head-end, with ES-44ACs 8051 and 8154 as rear DPUs. A photo and video are below.  The electronic bell heard in the video is from a gate-protected crossing behind the videographer for which train horns not sounded.  The road accesses a leachate treatment site associated with the old Avtex Fibers plant.

Neat video.  2 pulling and 2 pushing on what looks to be a significant grade in a beautiful country setting.
