Dixie and the NS 260 Topton, PA
Author: dschlegel

Lately I've been seeing more trains while walking Lucy but tonight Dixie was the lucky one.

We caught the 260 on it's westbound run to Harrisburg at the Home Avenue crossing in Topton, PA.

Note a couple of young railfans on bicycles also taking video. They took off before I could strike up a conversation with them.

Enjoy!

Dixie looks every bit as interested as Lucy in the NS train shows! Dogs are much more interested what their noses smell than what hteir eyes see!

Pups 'n' trains looks like an enjoyable way to spend part of a summer evening. Thanks for sharing!

Yery nice.  Thanks for sharing these.  And best of luck with Dixie.

I railfaned the Reading Line a lot in the 80's, 90's, and 2000's.  Working the Topton House in a photo or vidoe was always a priority on a day trip.

Does anyone know if the Topton House is an actual hotel, or a "boarding house"?  If its a hotel, it would be a neat place to stay for an overnight on a railfan trip.

The Topton House is simply a boarding house with a restaurant on the first floor that is now the “Tavern at Centre and Main.”

I agree that it would be a great place to stay for a railfan, maybe if I ever win the lottery (which I never play) I’ll buy it and convert it!
