Eastern Railroad Discussion > Railfanning doesn’t get much better than thisDate: 08/26/25 06:05 Railfanning doesn’t get much better than this Author: dadonatrain I got to my usual spot in Central, SC, this morning just in time to see NS 27A heading SB toward Inman yard in Atlanta. I knew NS1080, the Delaware & Hudson heritage unit, was in fourth position. As he came into view I could see he was slowing down. He was SB at the south end of a two track segment so I knew he was going to wait for a NB to pass. Since Murphy's Law has not been repealed, I figured I'd miss the HU while the NB passed in front of us on the closer track!
Well, I got lucky! He slowed to a stop with the D&H right in front of me! We got a closeup view for nearly ten minutes before he resumed his trip and the NB never did come into view until 27A's power was all well past me. i got a couple shots I'll try to upload or attach but I'm not too good at that.
