Eastern Railroad Discussion > After Supper Trains on the NS Reading LineDate: 09/07/25 17:43 After Supper Trains on the NS Reading Line Author: dschlegel After supper (spaghetti-my daughter's request) I headed trackside for a half hour and was able to catch two trains.
The first was an eastbound ethanol train at Bowers, PA. If you listen closely you can hear the roar of dirt track racing from a couple of miles away in Kutztown. One more........... I headed home to walk the beagles after this, they unfortunately didn't get to see any trains. Have a good week! Dan You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! Date: 09/07/25 19:33 Re: After Supper Trains on the NS Reading Line Author: Gonut1 Dan,
I'm thinking Dixie and Lucy were relieved that their sniffing around the Mean Streets of Topton wasn't interrupted by those rude noisy train things that distract their "owner" while out for their nightly walk. And spaghetti for supper, good eats! Your daughter has good taste. Comfort Food! Before getting old and dealing with cholesterol, I would often say, " I could eat a big bowl of spaghetti" and then would do so! You know most people have dinner we of PA Dutch heritage have supper! Mine this evening was a grilled Hot Turkey Sausage on a Philly Steak roll, homemade baked beans, home pickled dill pickles, late season corn-on-the-cob and (sadly) a generic grocery store noodle salad. I did make potato salad last weekend, but my wife usually cleans it out before I ever get a second helping! I guess it is good, just like Mom used to make. Probably because she gave me her Betty Crocker cookbook when I left the first wife and I needed to eat! And but of course it was washed down with a couple of cold Yuenglings! I also pulled carrots, beets and picked beans, tomatoes a couple peppersand then pickled a jar of hard-boiled eggs. Tomorrow, I'll likely make Eggplant Lasagna taking advantage of Nature's bounty from my garden. Oh, of rail interest I heard a few of those last CSX detours and some NS trains, even caught a few on the Phoenixville (Perkiomen Jct) cam pretty easy to do as it is about 12-15 minutes from my home and I have no rescue Beagles to walk and if I tried walking on this state highway I'd get mowed down like a rabbit or groundhog, Instant Road Pizza. Thanks as always for the Topton reports. Keep those reports coming along after dinner...
