Eastern Railroad Discussion > Indian River Coal Train on DCR this WeekDate: 10/02/25 17:48 Indian River Coal Train on DCR this Week Author: rmusselman Hello all,
FYI, another train (full of bathtub gons) was sent to IR Power Plant to haul out more coal. Southbound Empty though Wyoming, DE at 11:40am this past Monday 9/29 Northbound Loaded through Wyoming at 8:15pm this evening 10/2 Didn’t document the NS power numbers but assume they didn’t sneak another in…..using front end loaders takes 2-3 days to load? May have been a full train, maybe more to haul? Cheers, Randy Posted from iPhone Date: 10/02/25 18:35 Re: Indian River Coal Train on DCR this Week Author: MdRailfan Heritage Units has the Nickel Plate unit on a 579 in Delaware tonight. That would be an empty coal train, but since it is going north may be a loaded one. Also, the NP unit went down last night on a 44M which is a loaded grain train, so the power may have grabbed the coal train from Indian River. Just my hunch.
