Eastern Railroad Discussion > SW-1 under a Dramatic Sky YesterdayDate: 10/26/25 06:57 SW-1 under a Dramatic Sky Yesterday Author: thebluecomet Made a quick side trip while passing through Flemington, NJ yesterday afternoon and stumbled upon this photo op that I had to grab.
Black River and Western Fall Foilage and Pumpkin Field excursions were running. As the train boarded a good crowd I took a few images just before those dark clouds rolled in. The Pennsy SW-1 is on "home" rails as this was a former PRR branch. Flemington was served by three different railroads, all coming into town via branches. The Lehigh Valley from a very short distance away at Flemington Jct, the CNJ from Somerville with through trains to Jersey City once upon a time and the Pennsy up from Lambertville.
