SW-1 under a Dramatic Sky Yesterday
Author: thebluecomet

Made a quick side trip while passing through Flemington, NJ yesterday afternoon and stumbled upon this photo op that I had to grab.

Black River and Western Fall Foilage and Pumpkin Field excursions were running.  As the train boarded a good crowd I took a few images just before those dark clouds rolled in.
The Pennsy SW-1 is on "home" rails as this was a former PRR branch.  Flemington was served by three different railroads, all coming into town via branches.  The Lehigh Valley from a very short distance away at Flemington Jct, the CNJ from Somerville with through trains to Jersey City once upon a time and the Pennsy up from Lambertville.

Had an epic day under the same circumstances along the same railroad hauling freight nearby. ON NS, i saw H74, 10K, 269, H99, then as it bacame dusk, 202, 26X, H99 and 11N, The best part was not having those same clouds in my picture while i was at wyomissing

Nice images at a location that has changed quite dramatically over the years.
