The Speedway came up several times in the CPKC earnings call with analysts.

For me, the big takeaway was a Dallas to Atlanta corridor moving traffic end to end  in 30 hours.  Keith Creel mentioned this several times, and sees it as a major win for the merged companies. Class 4 track, investment should be complete in January.

The analysts were skeptical the company could carry this off.

Whether they can do it in 30 hours depends to a large extent on how coopeerative CSX is, and from what I can tell they will be very cooperative.  With no one to merge with so far, they have cooperative agreements with CP, BNSF and CN.  Add in a completed Balitmore tunnel and a restored Clinchfield, CSX should be a very competitive outfit in the years ahead.

It's worth noting that there was a recent report about an increase in  insider purchasing of CSX stock.

I use to run the former L&N Myrtlewood Branch from Selma to Myrtlewood. It was a roller coaster railroad wil lots of curves. Be interesting to see the running times over this section.

It's about time.  I quit listening and reading the KCS and CPKC earnings presentations because every other word was Mexico.  Until this presentation, The Speedway was pretty much ignored.

Class 4 Track where?  If he was referring to the former M&B between Meridian and Montgomery, CSX has poured money and resources into their portion between Myrtlewood and Montgomery.  CPKC?  Not even close.  Much of the CPKC's portion of the former M&B still looks like the M&B.  The rest of the CPKC between Meridian and Wylie, Texas is in excellent shape.

In this rare instance, I tend to agree with the Analysts.

The ex-WofA between Montgomery and Selma is relatively flat and straight. Selma to Meridian is more interesting.
