I can’t post the picture from my iPhone but apparently NS 1230 and possibly 1231 are sporting some new paint. Rumors are new heritage units, new dedicated OCS power, and geometry train power.

Beware of AI but NS does sneak in some surprises.

Just saying. I'm older than rock and becoming a certified Carmudgeon. Although I have been on the forefront of technology for decades as an electronics engineer, I still doubt that AI is where we want to go. AI has done some extremely stupid things in my communications. Good luck with it.

Totally agree. I used AI to differentiate between 2 Baofeng scanners and it reversed the data. I used it to verify the radio freq on NS at Leetonia, OH and it said it was on the New Castle sub and the freq was 160.23. The New Castle sub is well north and belongs to CSX and the 160.23 freq is CSX, not NS. My view of AI is there is a long way to go before I consider it useful.

No idea about AI however Chris Toft's (NSDash9) page has that same picture on FB on his site. 

It's not AI. NS has assigned and painted SD70IAC units 1230 and 1231 for use on its OCS (Office Car Special) trains.

Not at all.....the pair are just painted to blend with the NS OCS (Office Car Special) train.

I thought it was interesting in the picture of 1230 that it looks like it was given a name “Birmingham” below the numbers under the cab window. I wonder what name the other unit will have.

One other comment from the photo on FB… it’s hard for me to tell if the locomotive is going to be two tone (Tuscan red on the head end and black on the rear) or if it just appears that way due to shadows.

Another leaked photo confirmed that it is painted two-tone.

You can't be serious. You know over time everything will get painted over in Armour Yellow with UP Lettering. I don't know when the merger will be official, but the 250-year anniversary, plus the merger might be two excuses to get the Big Boy east of Chicago.

Same as always ... UP will pick through them and keep what they want. The rest will be sold off.
