North Shore versus Carload Express ?
Author: aehouse

Years ago, there was an announcemen that Carload Express would be taking over operations of the North Shore and related lines (Nittany and Bald Eage, Lycoming Valley, etc.) in north central Pensylvania.
Thereafter, the matter got tied up in the courts, and I have seen nothing further about it.

What is the current status?

I don't believe the Carload Express takeover of the North Shore railroads happened.

Most of the track is owned by local government agencies and leased to a local operator for periods of time

The SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority which operates the North Shore and others will be spun off as an independent entity next year:

I believe this is still tied up in the courts.
