Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS 955 at Carney's Crossing (Lilly, PA) + RJ CormanDate: 11/10/25 03:41 NS 955 at Carney's Crossing (Lilly, PA) + RJ Corman Author: JUTower Hi all,
Here's my contribution to the NS 955 OCS with freshly painted SD70ACe's... Thanks to a little intel from PittsburghMike I was aware that the train would be headed west out of Altoona. I had planned to spend the day working on the restaurant at The Station Inn in Cresson, and with a full list of things to do didn't really have time to pick an ideal place to set up a shot. Naturally - Murphy's Law dictated that the train passed Horseshoe Curve about 10 minutes before GPS showed me arriving in Cresson... I heard the 955 call MO as I was approaching the Rt 53 exit. So I went "post haste" to Carney's Crossing knowing that I wouldn't even have time to get the drone in the air. So, iPhone video it is, and here it is for you to see as well. I think it's great that NS opted to have assigned power to the OCS again... the paint scheme is... interesting, but it's great to see something different. -Alex You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. This didn't really pique my interest until I saw the red pair of RJC SD70M's back down against the train. So I did get the drone up in the air after they got the train put together and air tested. Here's the RJC-1 rounding the curve by the old engine terminal in Cresson yesterday afternoon.

>> Fresh. or clean, paint always looks good, but good God, I hope the railroads quickly get over these split paint jobs. I get that it's the new thing these days, but it is not a good look. It does kind of remind you a little bit of the CSX heritage schemes, doesn't it? From Alex' video, the units in their new paint job do look a little better passing by than they do standing still, if you get my drift.
