Interesting. Although I cannot see any presence of armed guards, you can be sure the train with its cargo is being very closely monitored. And and probably not just from the ground.

Very high security Navy cargo on railroads was (is?) accompanied by Special Service Marines. I used to see them occasionally on shipments from the Naval Weapons station Earle NJ to the Leonardo ammo dock. Date: 12/06/25 18:23 Re: Military Train in Folkston, Georgia Author: boejoe It's approximately 125 miles to Ft Stewart from Jacksonville. This has to be one of the shortest military moves on record. Granted the equipment doesn't travel 55 mph on highways but the trip for a few hours is doable. In the time it took to load the train, units could have reached their destination via Interstate 95!

Perhaps, but this is also used as a training scenario for the Army both at the port and at Fort Stewart. It gives them experience in loading and unloading as well as working with the railroad. There were also a few lessons learned on making sure cut levers were properly secured and brakes were serviced. If so, we would have definitely seen them when they had the train separation.

Back in 2012 there was a military shipment broken into in Atlanta? |
