Eastern Railroad Discussion > Been out a bitDate: 01/31/26 16:11 Been out a bit Author: bath_wildcat Yes its been a while since Ive been here.
Truth is January 5th, returned back to work. January 9th, went and redid xrays again at urgent care as something just did not feel right from that same injury back in November. Turns out I was right, as whas my wife. So now Im back home, out of work, reinjured this time with a spirial fibula fracture after the orginal one healed, and possibly now a tibula fracture, all while being back into the boot. I will know more Monday Feburay 2nd when I see my Orthopedic doctor on whats going on. Yes I just cannot get a break anymore, and now im out another three months, possibly looking at surgery which puts me out even longer. AAAARRRGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!! The wife loves having me home as to my 4 hooligan cats (yea right as she would say or call me some type of name, lol). Other than that I have been fairing pretty well. Since I havent been here in a New York Minute, heres a couple fromt he way back time machine while listening to animusics Heavy Light. First one is from when I lived in Port Clinton, Ohio on the same day I was chasing the CN 8952. This shot was taken in Oak Harbor, OHio at CD 266 of RG 301 working on main 2 IIRC. Second one is from May 4th, 2022 from Toledo, Ohio when the flashback scenes were being filmed for the movie A Man Called Otto. If you have watched the movie and these scenes, there was one although its a split second there is someone on the bridge west of the Amtrak station. Thats my old spot Sumner Ave road bridge, and that shadowy figure was actually me, as the picture can prove. I went out that day to document the filming of this, and yes I was shocked to see myself in a movie (even though its a split second). Fells good to be back, even though I may not get to post much material, but I can still write replies and send Messages. You really, really need to take care of yourself! Listen to the wife, and especially the doctors, they tend to understand bodily injuries. I've had a couple recent surgeries and procedures this year. If I had pushed the envelope too hard I'd likely be on my back tonight. Take Care, Be Well! Gonut Date: 01/31/26 21:03 Re: Been out a bit Author: bath_wildcat Gonut1 Wrote:

The sad thing is I have been taking care of myself. My orginal drs note ran out on JAnuary 5th, so I had to go back to work. Orthopedic Dr. was who took me back off work again and back into the boot. Had a CT scan done on the 22nd. That determins wether I have surgery or not. The best part-Workers Comp is paying me, as this last injury happened at work again within a two week window. The company I work for is still taking care of me, thankfully HR has been working with me on this as well. Im out for three additional months per ortho dr. Heck he had me out from November 12th-January 5th just for that extra time to heal, which the orginal fracture did heal, but a new spirial fracture happened 4 days into my work return, with a possible tibula fracture the ortho dr didnt like seeing on the last xrays, hence why the CT scan. Take care of yourself
