As usual, they are all great photos of the activity along the former B&O Railroad.  Is it me, or are there broken windows on the 2nd floor of the Point of Rocks Station?  Thanks, Gerry for all of your photos.

Thanks, John.  Unfortunately, since CSXT MoW moved out of the station in July 2022, the building has been left to deteriorate.  There are many broken/open windows on the second floor, the atic and the tower.  The wood in all the window frames and sashes, and around the doors is rotting away.  I was told over 20 years ago that I could buy the station for one dollar, but I had to move it off CSXT property.  CSXT wants it off their property so it doesn't have to pay tax and insurance premiums for it.  I can put up one dollar, but I don't have the money to purchase a place to move it to and then move it.  I have read that CSXT and Maryland and Frederick County government history agencies have been negotiating for years over its fate.  A small Frederick County park was built about 1/10 of a mile east of the staion, near US-15, about 10 years ago.  That would be a good place to move the station.

Thanks, Gerry, and I guess the Maryland DOT, with all the other money shortages this state now has because of the current governor, they don't have the money either to buy the building and use it as a railroad station once again.  It's a real shame if it is not saved and the fear that I have is that someone will burn it down, which has happened to many historic buildings over the years.  Hopefully something can be done to save it, and for now, the State of Maryland should not tax the building at all for a starter.  The big Hedge Funds that own so much of the CSX Stock, all they care about is more money anyway they can obtain it, regardless of history.

Great photography!

You mention the historic station's fate. I totally agree; if only it could be saved. I find myself wishing I was born several decades earlier, before a successful life was defined by money and nothing more.
