Eastern Railroad Discussion > Friday in Florida, with a twistDate: 02/27/26 04:56 Friday in Florida, with a twist Author: march_hare The GPS-based metadata for this pic taken a few days ago, simply says "Florida." But I think they're referring to Florida, NY, a rural upstate township just outside Amsterdam. Which is indeed were we are. That's Lock 10 on the Erie Canal in the right half of the photo, waiting for spring breakup so it can become relevant again. In a few weeks, the foreground will be full of geese, with an occasional fisherman or recreational boat.
Not sure about that pro-chastity slogan on the boxcar. 😁 Date: 02/27/26 06:57 Re: Friday in Florida, with a twist Author: inrdjlg Florida, New York, is the home base for Jimmy Sturr, the polka musician and orchestra leader. His shows appear on RFD-TV.
