Eastern Railroad Discussion > Brunswick, Maryland, 3/2/26Date: 03/03/26 04:27 Brunswick, Maryland, 3/2/26 Author: GPutz As I back out of my garage, I hear the 72.1 defect detector announce a train on #1 Main. I don’t think I’ll see it, but I do.
1. A w/b CSXT train of empty ethanol tank cars is led at 09:53 by ES44AH #964 + ET44AH #3400. 2. The e/b CSXT M276 is led at 11:28 by SD70AC #4731 on #1 Main with 3. DPU ES44AH #890. Gerry Date: 03/03/26 04:29 Re: Brunswick, Maryland, 3/2/26 Author: GPutz 4. As CSXT Y101 of ES44AHs #3110 + #925 uses #6 Runner for headroom, the w/b CSXT W009 of CW44AH #525 + DOTX #218 + DOTX #220 crosses from #6 to #5 Runner to
5. #1 Main at 11:43. It appears that DOTX #220 is more than a crew car. The engineer of W009 calls the BB dispatcher and explains the plan of the day: four runs at 50 mph each way between Shen (Shenandoah Junction, WV) and Byrd (east side of Martinsburg, WV), about 9 miles, on #1 Main. That shouldn’t be a big problem, except that there is only one locomotive and it must lead each way. That means going to West Cumbo on the west end and Sandy Hook on the east end after each run, tying up both Mains during each run around. I have no idea how long it takes to execute the plan. It’s now 22:00 and they may still be out there, maybe after a recrew. 6. Amtrak 41 is led by ALC-42 #346 + P42DC #194 at 11:56, about 10 minutes late. Gerry Date: 03/03/26 04:31 Re: Brunswick, Maryland, 3/2/26 Author: GPutz 7. The w/b CSXT M408 is led after a recrew at 12:51 by ES44AH #748 + CM44AC #7027 with
8. DPUs CW44AH #7600 + ET44AH #3329 as snow starts to fall. Gerry Date: 03/03/26 04:32 Re: Brunswick, Maryland, 3/2/26 Author: GPutz 9. The w/b CSXT I135 led by ES44AH #956 stops to recrew at the “boardwalk,” actually an asphalt road now, at 13:17.
10. I135 departs at 13:25 with 11. DPUs CW44AH #503 + ES44AH #3045. Gerry Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/03/26 04:33 by GPutz. Date: 03/03/26 04:34 Re: Brunswick, Maryland, 3/2/26 Author: GPutz 12. The w/b CSXT M277 is led at 13:56 by SD70AC #4742 + ES44AH #788.
13. The e/b CSXT C768 is led at 14:07 by ES44AH #809 + ET44AH #3269 + CM44AC #7102. How close to the Brunswick Station do you live? Thanks for all the photos along the old B&O.

You'd think csx could find another loco to bracket the cars to save the long run arounds. |
