A Pair of GP60s in 2026 - NS E23 at Lynchburg, VA
Author: Montview

NS GP60s 7131 and 7125 have been working various local assignments out of Lynchburg, Virginia, the last couple weeks. I saw them coming back south after working Glad in Amherst today, which is a normal Friday move for the E23 that spends its afternoon dodging Amtrak and road trains such as 288 and 25A. A bit different from when these GP60s might have been on 25A's equivalent on this same Southern main, but a nice break from the usual.

Nice video. I used to catch a single GP60 on my local E27. I enjoyed the days when the GP60's and the B32's both pulled 211 & 212.

My favorite NS locomotives!

Back when the CR split happened NS would put four or five of them on the hottest intermodals.

Always enjoyed listening to the throttle up as they departed Bethlehem with a 261 roadrailer.
