Interesting NS 168
Author: srman

Obviously dead in tow however this afternoon I caught NS 168 heading west for St. Louis with a couple of interesting locomotives trailing. NS 7518 led the train. Taken in New Albany Indiana. A little digging I found that Garden City Western ABRX  200 GP9 was built in February 1957 as Northern Pacific 200. I couldn't find anything on the switcher Green Valley 711. I'm just guessing but looks like a SW7. I'll follow with the high and wide load.

The switcher kinda has the proportions of an SW1. curious to know what it was, looks sharp!

PHRR is the reporting mark for Port Harbor Railroad, based in Granite City, IL.  Don't know if that helps.

Joe
a couple notes as another poster said the Green Plains marked # 711 wears PHRR marks. My guess is its just for transportation purposes but ironically PHRR serves a large Green Plains ethanol plant at Madison, IL
