I wonder if the employees put their signature on the loco somewhere like inside a door? The last Allis Chalmers tractor made had the some employees sign the SMV sign on the rear of the tractor.

Many of you will know this story, but when the one millionth Corvette was built in 1992, all the employees at Bowling Green Assembly signed the car in inconspicuous places. When that car and several others fell into the sinkhole that developed under the National Corvette Museum in 2014, it was heavily damaged, but deemed repairable. One panel though, right behind one of the front tires was too badly damaged to repair, so a replacement part was sourced. The original part had been signed on the back by a female line employee who had long since retired. The NCM tracked her down and had her autograph the replacement part so that her name would remain a permanent part of the car.
