CSX does seem to give its Worcester-bound IM train I022 running priority over the eb NS trackage rights IM train even though the NSR Settlement Agreement negotiated when CSX acquired Pan Am Railways refers to the NS Z264 as a "priority" IM train! I guess if you own the track, you can make the rules!

I guess if you own > the track, you can make the rules! More motivation on NS' part to look at clearance improvements inside Hoosac for double stacks. With the B&A routing, NS can maintain service into Ayer while the tunnel is out of service. Part of the tunnel needs to have the floor lowered at the far west end necessitating the closure while the balance needs to have rock removed from ceiling which can be completed with work periods where the tunnel would temporally close but the track on this segment would not need to be removed. |
