Brunswick, Maryland, 5/4/26
Author: GPutz

A welder had #2 Main between South WB and East Brunswick until about 14:00, except for a lunch break.
1. An e/b CSXT coal train is led at 09:45 by ES44AHs #3223 + #878 on #1 Main.
2. The e/b CSXT M372 (I think) is led at 10:00 by CW44AH #521 + ES44AHs #799 + #3146 on #1 Main.
3. The e/b CSXT M276 is led at 10:20 by ES44AH #3219 + CM44AC #7104 on #1 Main.

4. A w/b MARC train led at 10:31 by MP36PH-3C #26 on the Engine Lead crosses to #1 Main and goes to Martinsburg.  A railfan who was here earlier than I said this train arrived e/b about 08:00 and went directly to the fuel pad.
5. Amtrak 41 (CSXT P030) is led by ALC-42 #328 + P42DC #179 (same as last Wednesday) at 12:12, about 25 minutes late, while the welder was at lunch.
6. The w/b CSXT M277 is led at 13:00 by ES44AH #1875 (P&LE) + ES40DC #5415.

7. The e/b CSXT R115 is led at 13:29 by ES44AHs #988 + #773 + #924 on #1 Main.
8. The w/b CSXT I135 led at 14:11 by ET44AH #3425 + SD70AC #4562 with
9. DPUs ES44AH #3212 + CW44AC #459 proceeds directly to Knoxville for a recrew.  When it stops in Knoxville the rear car just clears the South Maple Avenue grade crossing, but not enough to allow the gates to go up blocking the crossing for about 20 minutes.  The recrewing location is about 2.5 miles from South Maple Avenue, making this a 13,000-foot train.

13 – 14. There were several men wearing hard hats and safety vests poking around the tracks in front of the station.  One of them told the other railfan they were investigating something.  Hmmmm?  Things do go bump in the night.

As usual, they are all nice and very interesting especially seeing those large trucks with the cranes and parts on them.  Thanks, Gerry.
