Tower Tuesday
Author: swaool

Former PRR tower at Dunkirk OH controlled the crossing of the PRR's Chicago line and the NYC's T&OC line.  Although the interlocking is now remotely controlled, CSX's signal department still uses the tower as a maintenance operations base.  Two photos taken 7/13/2025 by myself and Jeff Van Cleve (who can be seen at right in the first pic).

Good-looking maintenance base.

A classic Pennsy "blockhouse" tower. The crenelated castle-like roofline, with the red brick walls topped by limestone caps (looks like they've been replaced here), was a PRR favorite design in the Midwest.

Glad to see it still stands. Thanks for the images.
