Fernandina Beach, FL
Author: DFWJIM

While visiting Fernandina Beach this weekend I saw a yard just southwest of downtown that held a lot of box cars that were not being stored. I am curious as to what is being shipped in the boxcars.

Thank you

Westrock has a huge paper mill immediately north of downtown. Can’t miss it unless you simply stay over on the beach. Serviced by G&W’s First Coast Railroad.

This traffic was historically handled by CSX train A772/A773, AKA the "Fernandina Rocket" out of Waycross, seen here at Folkston (GA) on 3/28/1999.

This traffic is now handled by CSX L796 Waycross - Jacksonville Busch Yard turn.
