Eastern Railroad Discussion > Long day with NS Birmingham

Yesterday morning I heard on the scanner that NS 224 was heading west across southern Indiana with their Landmark Series SD70ACe Birmingham 1230. Bad time of day for an westbound move but I gave chase hoping for better results later in the day. At Depauw the fog was slowly burning off as the morning sun was rising.. Then an unexpected paraglider drifts into my shot enjoying the days sunrise. Next he drifted along by St. Anthony and then by Oakland City. After he reached Princeton for a new crew it stopped for about six hours. I had to preoccupy myself for the next few hours either watching CSX ,reading or having lunch.  Of course now the light was getting better for a westbound move. It was afternoon move of less than ten miles. I heard the dispatcher tell the crew to shut it down. Fine with me since it had already been a long day and time to head home.  I'll follow this with the other three images.

The first shot is sweet! Great series of shots. You can kill time at Taco Tierra or Klinkers. LOL! Too bad they parked it at Lyle Station. Would have loved to see your shots from IL.
