I heard that the 2nd one The Liberty is stored in Altoona. Are they planning on actually using them other then special events?

I was wondering about that as well ...I hadn't heard anything about it after it had been released from the paint shop.

It's too bad NS didn't have any way of knowing when July 4th would arrive, so they could have at least 3 of the 6 engines ready & at some special event(s) for July 4th. 

July 4th is when they always stock the locos with switch brooms.

I'd assume that they are holiding these units in Altoona for the arrival of the Big Boy and the festivities there this week.

Other railroads too. Everyone dragged their feet on these. I just don't get it.

Believe me, if you were a rail, you would understand.....

Wasn't the NS250 unit in the consist from Harrisburg to Altoona?
