Eastern Railroad Discussion > Allentown & Auburn leaves Kutztown with revenue frt and a CR Hack

Tonight, The Allentown & Auburn lafft Kutztown, PA with two Car loads of someting headed to Pittsburh, PA via Topton, PA and the NS interchange. On the rear end is the Conrail Historical Society's Caboose.The A&A EMC 206 SW puts on a show with the throttle wide open leaving Kutztown. There also a few still pics. one shows what use to be the Station at the village of Swoyers on the Allentown Branch of the Reading Railroad. It was moved from it's orginal location from across the tracks where i stood to take the picture. The building was converted into a garage back in the 1920's.

Thanks for the videos and still shots Jim.  Very interesting.  Have the other gons, pulled out earlier, been picked up already by NS?

Nice to see Kutztown's foundry shipping. I recall when the last loads left there decades ago. We were there when Thomas was in town. The kids were little and we were at Renninger's Market earlier and literally stumbled into the Thomas excitement! I believe that was the real functioning steam Thomas from Strasburg. Thanks for posting the happening!

This is SOOO cool.   a scrappy back-from-the-dead short line....tourist trains with cabooses, an active EMC SW  (1939?), a great traditional looking paint job, and now hauling 100T gonds of steel in revenue freight svc.

The other gons are still down in the Foundry. 

That was November of 98. The Thomas was not steam powered. There was a GP7 at the rear of the Thomas train doing the honors. I was Sir Topem hat back them.
