.   .   .   last two days in the Chicago area were mostly overcast. Headed down to Homewood on the old IC where an interesting consist pulled out of the yard and stopped (top). Since I didn't have my scanner, didn't know if this was a yard job or train. Notice Amtrak for New Orleans was lined so headed another two miles down to Flossmore for a grab (middle) and a bit later along came the same train as above headed south out of town (bottom).   .   .   .   just a dozen more to go   .   .   .

.   .   .   last full day headed up to Franklin Park where the variety was good. Really like the new METRA SD's and the old unchanged, yet, signal bridge as well as not to distant Gene and Judes hot dogs for lunch.   .   .   .   down to nine more to go   .   .   .

.   .   .   after this eastbound departing Bensonville yard (top) headed south just looking around catching this southbound CSX somewhere between Franklin Park and Pullman Junction at a crossing (middle) on arrival Pullman Junction grabbed this westbound CSX on BRC on the north side where I have never shot a train (top) and today, the only place you can shoot at Pullman Junction. Definately not the place of old.   .   .   .   six more to go   .   .   .

.   .   .   didn't notice till days later this southbound CSX at Dolton was the same train I caught a couple hours earlier (top) then on this Sunday a set of IHB lite power approaching Dolton crossing (middle) and decided to go check out Joliet since I haven't been there in litterally decades catching an eastbound BNSF train with CN leader (bottom). Man, has this place changed.   .   .   last three coming up   .   .   .

.   .   .   a westbound UP on former GM&O at Joliet (top) Finally, on last half day before flying home checked out a couple places close to Midway catching a CSX departing Clearing yard on former GTW at Ashburn (middle) then up to crossing of BRC and BNSF at Lemoyne seeing nothing but BNSF on both BNSF and BRC (bottom). Not one of my better trips but was nice to visit some old haunts in the Chicago area as well as some friends and family along the way. Thanks for looking.

Great bunch, still a lot of good variety around Chicago even after all the consolidation. Gotta laugh too at the classic summer weather, experienced that around town myself a few times...
