Here are a few of the captures I got at the America 250 event that was held at Spencer, NC on Aug 28, 29, and 30, 2026.  Thunderstorms in the area on Friday afternoon caused some delay in the events.  Although there were only sprinkles at the site, there was quite a bit of lightning around that stopped things for a short time.  This was a well run event, and this is a great place to visit even without a big gathering like this.  Thanks to Norfolk Southern and North Carolina Transportation Museum for all they did to make this a huge success.

Hey Rathole, amazing images!  My wife and I were there on Friday, and the cloud cover (at times) played with lighting.  Your pics are far superior to mine . . . both in the positioning of the equipment and the light versus shadows that impacted so many of my pics.  Timing mattered on Friday.

I do love the Abraham Lincoln unit, and did get several photos of it on Friday in ideal conditions.  So, I'm simply posting two of them here on your thread, if that is OK.  I think these are worthy of being included among your outstanding images.  Great work!

That was a favorite of mine as well.  It took a fair amount of patience to get some of the shots lol.

Some awesome units were there, that's for sure. Of all the units, I think it's beyond cool that an old ALCo was amongst the units present. That's just awesome

Quite the understatement. The children ran up for their shots then just stood there looking at their image on the camera. Some yelling was involved all three days......

There was a fair number of adults doing the same thing…

It was good to see the many kids and young adults enjoying the event.
