Wheeling passing a P&WV look alike Fairbanks Morse

Both today's Wheeling and Lake Erie and the N&W before that ran trains over the former Pittsburgh and West Virginia RR. One of the photos I wanted to nab once I saw the WLE/NW pair was on the morning freight run was them passing the Beaufort and Morehead RR Fairbanks-Morse H-12-44 wearing a very close likeness of the P&WV scheme used on their own FMs. The 1860 is still operational as well. Spencer, NC, 08-30-2026.

Cool that it still runs. 

I've been an active railfan for over 50 years. I have dozens of photos of Fairbanks Morse diesels in scrap lines all over the country. But in 5 decades of roaming, I've never heard one run.
