Too cold for anyone ?
Author: cw60ac

A few days ago, an NS engineer noted the dedication of railfans that he saw out in the cold. Did anyone in the northeast go out today ? I chased the NS 41T from Crestwood, PA down to Scranton. The temp. was about 0 degrees with a light wind - not a day for shots that required hiking and waiting !
Below is the 41T at Laurel Run, PA. Here are links to 2 others, but since clinkable links to railpictures.net are disabled, you'll have to cut and paste - sorry !

Great shot! I spent the morning at Riverton Jct. (Front Royal, Va.) It was a balmy 14 degrees with a nice stiff breeze. Anyone notice that a digital camera seems to slow down in the cold???

Of course!

Had to get this little gem before she's bumped from her assignment:

And welcome this ole' gal home, the one doing the bumping:

I don't know how cold it was, but it sure was a nice chase. I figured it was time to stop as they were finishing up and I couldn't feel my face anymore (jk). It was also the first crystal clear day that I've seen this year. Lets hope its a sign of things to come. A CR B40-8 leading a local on the way home was a nice bonus...
