Date: 01/18/04 19:52 Re: 1-Way Street; Author: CSXT4447 sweet shot, can't help on location though.
I shot three eastbounds at Porter in the later 90s, which occupied all 3 tracks in a simial manner - very cool, and not too uncommon at certain locations in northern IN. (there was a Sperry car headed westbound with my meet, which really made the moves interesting)! Date: 01/18/04 23:26 Re: 1-Way Street; Author: CSX_CO gtirr Wrote:

Date: 01/19/04 01:44 Re: 1-Way Street; Author: conrail767596 It's CR track for sure; dark ballast, heavy rail, power aside. Gotta love it. First guess is the Chicago Line between CP 466 and 462 in Indiana. Second guess in the Chicago Line someplace in upstate New York.

CP-435, South Bend, IN Date: 01/19/04 09:17 Re: 1-Way Street; Author: GNR1938 I was going to guess just west of Auburn, IN between Auburn and Garrett.
Date: 01/19/04 13:40 Re: Elkhart Author: WC_4ever I was just coming with a CP 435 answer! The radio tower at the NIPSCO offices gives it away...
They were really piling traffic through this weekend. I had my new scanner running while I worked on the layout and I couldn't believe the amount of traffic. Especially Sunday evening. GTIRR: Is there a map of Elkhart westend with track names? Now that I can get reception that far, I'm wondering where the Early Bird, Inner, Outer, North Freight, Runner and other tracks are... Email me off list. Thanks Russ. Andy Date: 01/20/04 16:39 Re: Elkhart Author: gtirr The shot was taken from a public street crossing (Leer St.) and all 3 trains were eastbound, stopped waiting for Elkhart to take them.
gtr Date: 01/20/04 16:42 Re: 1-Way Street; Author: gtirr WC4ever,
I do have a track chart of Elkhart Yd. and here is a couple of shots from the air. This photo shows the engine terminal in the center. The Inbound Runner is the far right track. No.1 and No.2 Main and the Early Bird are the first 3 tracks from the left. The North Freight is at the East End of the yard at main St. along with the South Freight. The Fuel Pad towards the top of the photo. gtr Date: 01/20/04 16:44 Re: 1-Way Street; Author: gtirr 2nd photo;
The "Runner" is actually called the "Inbound Runner" and is used by most Eastbound trains entering Elkhart Yard. It is the track right next to the road in the photo. The Van site is what you see on the left with it's own 2 tracks. gtr Date: 04/19/11 05:29 Re: 1-Way Street; Author: raytc1944 CR and ATSF had a run through power pool to and from Elkhart, but there was no direct interchange anywhere near it.
