Eastern Railroad Discussion > A Wheeling Night (Entry)Date: 05/27/04 07:04 A Wheeling Night (Entry) Author: Wade6573 Before the sky gets comletely dark is one of my favorite times to do night photography. I had an opportunity to do just that last night at the Wheeling and Lake Erie's Rook Yard. OLS engine 102 and an ex-Rio Grande unit are seen here parked next to the old P&WV yard office on the evening of 5/26/04.

-Alex Date: 05/27/04 12:36 Another Wheeling Night (Entry) Author: Wade6573 Here's one of my personal favorites, a 416 grain train at Connellsville. The crew had gone to rest but was kind enough to leave the headlight and ditch lights on which added a bit of life to an otherwise static night shot.

Well, I can dream, can't I?? Baltimore Bill Date: 05/27/04 14:26 Re: WM Author: Wade6573 Bill, I wish that was the case! Unfortunately I was about 2 years old when most of the WM was abandoned by Chessie. I did photograph the last WM engine on CSX (6573) quite a few times in the late 80's, but no night shots :(

This photo was taken in 1994 near Frostburg, MD. This caboose was thoroughly refurbished by its owner, it took many hours of work to get it looking this good!
-Wade P.S. Stay tuned next week, I might have another "WM" shot to add. ![]() |
