Even later than usual P030 passes through Hyndman, PA the afternnon of Sunday 8/1. Looks like the lead unit struck something solid in it's recent past??

What in the world happened to those F40s? Looks like they have been patched and then repatched.

I was told that they were likely just rebuilt, and hadn't made a trip to the paint shop yet. Amtrak was probably very short on power and they just sent them out after rebuilding. Still, you have wonder what passengers in Cumberland thought when they saw these beasts pull in!
