I heard that some fellows at the Los Angeles Live Steamers did something like this using battery-powered leaf blowers on flatcars for propulsion, much to the horror of the more senior club members! The latest forecast for the Philadelphia area this morning says to expect snow early Monday morning with some two to three inches accumulation. Heard they are canceling spring and summer this year and we are going right back to winter. Ho hum!

It is not too serious a thing when one of the snow jet engines lose a blade and ends life down a switch lead. Just get replaced with another air line rejected engine. They are loud, and them make some ballast fly.

I saw it often in action during winter evenings in the 70's from 75th Street Tower, and it was quite a sight; lots of flames. |
