Model Railroading > Building an SD50S in HODate: 09/06/06 18:54 Building an SD50S in HO Author: SOU3921 Anybody built one in HO? Here is what I am thinking for an NS version:
KATO SD38-2 frame/6-brake cylinder trucks/motor. Cannon nose and cab, with a heavily modified/shortened Athearn SD50 dynamic brake compartment, engine compartment, and radiator(option A) or a scratchbuilt engine compartment and radiator compartment (option B) sitting on a modified SD38-2 walkways/pilots/stepwells. I haven't tried to slide an Athearn SD50 shell over a kato engine, I assume it will fit. Any NS or KCS people out there tried an SD50S?
