UP 8406 SD70ACE Done...
Author: Afbombers

After many hours of work finaly completed my kitbash of this unit, I think it turned out pretty good it may not be exact but considering only measurments I had were about 40 photos and the ability to count hood doors. I have pictures pre-paint on my site http://members.trainorders.com/afbombers/page3.html

only few touch ups left and that nasty window haze to get rid of

Thanks! Impressive work on the long hood and in essentially scratch building it. The plastic work around the cab windows is pretty rough, though--anyway you can clean that up a bit? It's the biggest shortcoming on an otherwise impressive job.

Nice work, looks like your rear handrail popped outta the stanchoin for the rear steps. Hate how the camera picks up stuff we miss with our eyes, hate it when that happens.

Otherwise thanks once again for sharing.

Looks like quite a bit of work. What paint did you use? It looks like the locomotives that have been in the field for while.

What a great job! I am in the process of doing one myself in HO(BNSF I think, may still come out UP)and can appreciate the door counting and photo research, not to mention the hard work put into it. Same deal here, using a KATO SD70MAC as a base. Thanks for sharing! Not everything made these days is ready to roll. Some of it takes hard work and determination. Keep up the great work.
