Model Railroading > UP 8406 SD70ACE Done...Date: 06/30/07 14:06 UP 8406 SD70ACE Done... Author: Afbombers After many hours of work finaly completed my kitbash of this unit, I think it turned out pretty good it may not be exact but considering only measurments I had were about 40 photos and the ability to count hood doors. I have pictures pre-paint on my site http://members.trainorders.com/afbombers/page3.html
only few touch ups left and that nasty window haze to get rid of Date: 06/30/07 14:07 Re: UP 8406 SD70ACE Done... Author: Afbombers Date: 06/30/07 16:53 Re: UP 8406 SD70ACE Done... Author: balryan Very nice maybe I'll get my Tower 55 some day. Best make it a matter of prayer.

The plastic work around the cab windows is pretty rough, though--anyway you can clean that up a bit? It's the biggest shortcoming on an otherwise impressive job.

Otherwise thanks once again for sharing. Afbombers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Rear shot Date: 07/01/07 14:50 Re: UP 8406 SD70ACE Done... Author: TCnR Looks like quite a bit of work. What paint did you use? It looks like the locomotives that have been in the field for while.
Date: 07/01/07 16:20 Re: UP 8406 SD70ACE Done... Author: Afbombers used Polly Scale Railroad Acrylics from floquil, F414170 UP armor yellow and F414176 UP harbor mist then I sprayed it with a dull coat.

TCS - jest kureous Date: 07/02/07 13:45 Re: UP 8406 SD70ACE Done... Author: Atsf814 What a great job! I am in the process of doing one myself in HO(BNSF I think, may still come out UP)and can appreciate the door counting and photo research, not to mention the hard work put into it. Same deal here, using a KATO SD70MAC as a base. Thanks for sharing! Not everything made these days is ready to roll. Some of it takes hard work and determination. Keep up the great work.
