Author: antlorch I got an Athearn SD60 painted in the lease colors and fully assemblied and I want to strip it and repaint it in my road.My question is I am not sure how to go about stripping the paint off of it without damaging the side windows,these are glued on I suspect(not the windows themself but the frame they sit in so they can slide).Has anybody out here had success stripping one of these?
Date: 07/28/07 11:35 Re: Athearn paint? Author: ESPEE5318 Remove the windows they pop outward , the side of the cab around the side windows pops out and the side windows can be removed . Remove the handrails. Take you time it is all delicate stuff. Strip it with a new bottle of 91% alcohol. I have done many of them................Joe
