Wow, a really impressive model until you get to the molded grabirons and air lines. I guess that is not a deal breaker but you would think no one would be producing new models with that outmoded feature these days.

After looking at the Milwaukee Freight Car book I was concerned how the interface for the doors to the flat car were done, that explains it. The flat car itself is unusual, never mind the racks on top of it. The model is a classic, might get one just for display.

Had the chip cars on the rail the other night and noticed the trucks didn't seem to be in the NASCar region like some of the others on the market. Nice looking though and seem to be just fine for what I need.

Anybody know if these cars went through Ohio and, if so, on what routes?

Meanwhile, I'm curious to know what became of those cars once the Vert-a-Pak concept was abandoned. Was it a matter of removing and scrapping the topsides, and re-using the flat cars?

They were BASED out of Ohio. The Chevy Vegas were built at Lordstown, Ohio and they were all return-routed to the GM plant there .

They sure did visit Ohio! These cars were designed to haul the Chevy Vega, which was built at Lordstown, OH.

How does one ever see what Exactrail has to offer. Everytime I try the web site, I get the welcome screen. Click on anything, and I get, the welcome screen! Even trying the contact page gets me the "welcome screen". This has been going on since I first learned of them. HELP????

That was happening to me during the first couple of days, then it let me get half-way through my order before resetting to their home page with an empty cart. It's been working ok lately using Firefox on Vista and on XP. If you're part of a large ISP (AOL comes to mind) they may have the broken site in their server and don't know to update it. Maybe theirs a contact e-mail or telephone number for ordering, but the photos need to come through first to sell the product.

Next time you visit, try reloading or refreshing the screen to load the latest version of the page. You might be accessing an old version of the page saved in your archives, one with the problems. Most web browsers have this feature to help load a web site faster by not having to start over every time. It assumes that the page hasn't changed. BTW: I have had no problems with the site.

They are getting their dealerships set up so you can see them at the LHS. I was at Doc's in Kansas City this morning and he had a few and was telling me about them getting the dealers in place. So have patience, grasshopper.

To PCnR and swsf, Thanks. I finally figured out to try internet explore as my route, and got in. I will try the suggestions on the AOL side to see if that works.

Thanks again,

KK
