Model Railroading > Air Horn QuestionDate: 06/22/09 16:50 Air Horn Question Author: dcmkris Does anyone know what the proper air horn would be for a Southern SD40-2? If so, does anyone know who might make it in HO scale and the possible part number?
Thanks Kris Date: 06/22/09 17:50 Re: Air Horn Question Author: GBSD70ACe Old cast P5 with low profile manifold, all bells forward.
IIRC. Date: 06/22/09 19:00 Re: Air Horn Question Author: sp8192 Yep, as mentioned before, it is a P5 with all bells faced forward. You have two options here, you can build one using a Details Associates part #229-1603 (like I did on my NS SD40-2). Or as another option, you can use KATO part 950044 (5 chime Airhorn for RTA). It is a different sort of P5, with one bell reversed, but will work for what you would need it for. Hope this helps.

I was about to complain about it to my LHS on my Athearn when I went to the Fallen Flags website and looked at some pictures. ahj |
