Unfortunately, I no longer need them - built my own from P2K shells on Atlas drives - but I may still have to pick them up just to support the cause. I wonder if we'll get lucky enough for noselights?
Date: 06/24/09 18:57 Re: More new Athearn items Author: tunnelmotor40 If anyone is holding their breath for Athearn to add the Gyra/Mars light to their next run of the SD50, they can breath and forget it!! Athearn has made it clear they will NOT make this adjustment to the unit. That also includes a correct size fuel tank. Their reasoning (basically)is it isn't worth it. One suggestion was using the SD40T-2 nose, but this would not work, and again, Athearn said they could not make the change cost effective. So, we're stuck with another run of the SD50 in D&RGW colors, STILL incorrect. Their rationale is, they'd rather produce a slightly incorrect unit in the popular road, than correct the mistake. In other words, let the buyer just suck it up!!

I guess breaking out the X-acto knife these days is out of the question. Sigh. See here: http://www.pbase.com/sp_8299/sd50_nose_lights Who's first?
