Model Railroading > GN Big Sky Blue Passenger Car Decals

Hi All,

Anyone have any suggestions for passenger car decals (coach) in Great Northern Big Sky Blue? I am aware of set PR-128 from Champ, but are there any other choices to consider? Microscale doesn't seem to have a set.

A thought might be to find a big sky blue freight set and possibly the goat herald would be the same size on the coach as on some freight cars and since it's a coach could use caboose numbers. What kind of coach is it?

It's an ex-UP 44-seat coach that the GN bought, and were later found in Amtrak service in GN Big Sky Blue colors & lettering. Thanks.

Thats an interesting project. I've got several of those coaches (the retooled Rivarossi versions) and I'm going to use them on my early 70s Amtrak Florida trains as the exUP cars were used on the Meteor, Star, and Champion. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a BSB decal set that could work.

Harry - are you just looking for car names & numbers ? I printed mine up on my ALPS - Arial Font 8 point - I guessed 8" scale - for my Walthers BSB cars.

If that's what you want I'd be happy to print you up a sheet. PM me.

Thanks for the help. Right now, I'll see if I can track down one of those Champ Decal sets for the time being. It should do the trick hopefully. Then again, by the time I finish painting mine, Walthers will probably announce GN BSB for that 44-seat coach the day I finish the model!
