What do you guys use to put two pieces of Masonite together to make a sky board / backdrop?

On my home layout I used 2x4's at the joints.
Glued them and placed a small #8 wood screw at the base
to keep the bottom secured.

I spliced them together with a 2x2 in behind the seam attached to the basement wall. In some places I use 1/4" and 1/8" maosonite so I put a strip of 1/8" masonite on the edge of the 1/8" where it met the 1/4" masonite. I actually like the 1/4" better though it's heavier.
