Model Railroading > Athearn SD70 ACE truck problem resolved - The fix

Well I told myself that I was not not going to let this Athearn truck issue beat me. I found the fix and I wanted to share a video on how I did it. Hope this helps. She sure rides well now.

Alas, I picked up my UP 1982 earlier, and only issue I got was the left numberboard had came off. LHS guy said he hoped that maybe one of us didnt have that issue, seems like every 70 he has gotten has had the problem. The KCS and BNSF units he had on display both had one come off. I want a KCS unit dearly, but not sure I need it that bad.

Looks like that Mad Max Movie, beyond the Blue Box Dome.

You are a legend Bruce; an absolute legend. I should have known something was up when the video started on the layout and not at the workbench.

I don't know if a numberboard that fell off would keep me from purchasing a model. I am able to glue small parts onto models.

Ah it doesn't, which it not why I turned it down, but I'm not sure I need a KCS unit yet.... It would just make want to either get a second one or wait for a GEVO to make a full grain train. I have plenty of foreign power right now, and I'm trying to resist the urge of buying more.

The warped truck thing isn't exactly new for Athearn. You'd think they would have figured it out. Was thinking about a Belle and a Mopac ACe, but with all the problems I'm reading about, I think I'll pass.
