Model Railroading > Milw Triple CombineDate: 06/26/11 10:02 Milw Triple Combine Author: wc581 I got a new toy the other day, It's a Milwaukee Road Triple Combine imported by Nickle Plate Products. 24 hours latter I had it painted and decailed, I will hace to add glazing next, and find some small gold numbers to do the car number

KG Date: 06/26/11 13:35 Re: Milw Tripple Combine Author: wabash2800 No, three. <G> Yes, only one.
Edit: I corrected the spelling on my post too as Mike corrected his and made me look bad... kgmontreal Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Doesn't triple have only one "P"? > > KG Edited 1 time(s). KG Date: 06/26/11 15:08 Re: Milw Tripple Combine Author: john1082 I can see having a mail hook for the RPO section, but given that this car likely trundled along on a branchline, very possibly on a mixed train, I can only wonder how much mail it had to snatch while rumbling by at 20 mph?
John Gezelius Tustin, CA Date: 06/26/11 16:27 Re: Milw Tripple Combine Author: wabash2800 Yeah, but you know if it passed through a location without work, it might save having to stop the train...
Date: 06/26/11 17:26 Re: Milw Tripple Combine Author: Newman Very different looking car....did they run with only one (steam) engine in front?
Date: 06/26/11 17:30 Re: Milw Tripple Combine Author: wc581 the car was used on Branchlines, one loco up front
Mike Slater Date: 06/26/11 18:10 Re: Milw Tripple Combine Author: Newman Should make for a sharp little train....post up a pic when you get it on the layout.... ;)

The hook, though heavy, is removed easily, and reinstalled easily. Ya put it in, for the direction of travel, and use when and if you need it. But, as you point out, most of the time in this service, you likely wouldn't need it. -Larry Doyle |
