Honestly only a few of these would make viable model products. AS far as I see it, the only commercially viable models on the list with the current info I have are;

058. PC&F Box Car 5077 with Non-Terminating Corrugated Ends -BN, RBOX, CSXT
Three solid roadnames spanning the country, some repaint variations. Though not a terribly exciting car.

174. PC&F Box Car 5102 Combination Door with 8’ Corrugated Youngstown Door and 6’ Youngstown Slide Plate B GN Signature -GN, BN
Of the various GN plug door boxcars on the list, this was one that could have enough interest to be viable. It's distinctive enough visually with two GN schemes, a few BN schemes, and possibly a BNSF scheme. CB&Q may have also had this car, but I'm not sure.

082. PC&F Box Car 5148 Double Door (with terminating dreadnaught ends) -BPRR, QC, WCTR, SLC, GNWR
156. PC&F Box Car 5148 Double Door (with non-terminating box corrugated ends) WP Signature -WP, UP w/ WP marks
If the model can be tooled with interchangeable ends, both of these would be viable.

108. PC&F Box Car 5307 Double 8’ Plug Door Plate C -CIRR, NADX, TOE, CLC, MSV
A distinctive looking car tied to a few interesting paint schemes. SP and SSW also had a similar car.

245. PC&F Box Car 6157 Double 8’ Plug Door Plate F -MILW, CP
Possibly viable as a MILW signature car. I've also seen this car in full CP red.

202. PC&F Box Car 6505 Double 8’ Plug Door Heavy Duty Bifurcated Terminating Dreadnaught Ends Plate F -ATW, CLC, NADX, TOE, OC&E
This one might be a bit iffy, but it's a car with distinctive ends and a couple of good paint schemes.

223. PC&F Box Car 7348 Elongated Waffle -SP, UP, AMEX, PSMX, HPJX
This car would do well with SP fans. The Popsicle stick car would probably do well all around just for it's uniqueness.

Also C&O and SBD prior to CSXT, but those were likely all patched RBOX paint jobs. I'll check for any SBD full repaints. I would LOVE to see this car produced in HO for my CSX fleet. The subtle differences between the P-S, FMC, and PC&F Plate B cars make for an interesting mix of box cars, in my opinion.

I definitely think the "popsicle" car would be a great model. I'd welcome any new SP cars, but especially a 5077 for CSX.

Thanks Dave. I was getting some misses on the larger cars I believe due to incorrect cuft numbers. I need to do look at some of those other PC&F UP cars to see if they are close to some missing ones. I'll update the master list with the new info.

A few of those PC&F BN heritage cars were offered in kit form from Modeler's Choice, they have since stopped advertising or however it can be described. The kit's were pretty raw but not outrageous at all.

I didn't recognize the version in the photo as having been made by Exactrail. The combo doors were pretty specific, maybe a replacement door would work out.

Unless they use allot of modular molds (which they seem to already), I dont see how many of those are viable models;

Most are close to one owner cars .S P, SSW and Golden West doesnt make 3 :)

Or, they are so similar to stuff thats already out there (plate B PC&F railbox type) that 90% wont notice a difference.

With the help of others, I've edited the list to include some new additions. Those additions have pointed out a couple of other cars that could be commercially viable.

122. PC&F Box Car 5077 Plate B - See next two entries
239. PC&F Box Car 5077 with improved Dreadnaught Ends -BN, BNSF, MILW, CP, WC 50' flat roof
058. PC&F Box Car 5077 with Non-Terminating Corrugated Ends -BN, RBOX, CSXT 50' Peaked roof

If the roof and ends could be interchangeable, this model would be a good seller. Even if the parts couldn't be made interchangeable, each version probably could still stand on it's own.

163. PC&F Box Car 7633 -WP, MILW, CP, MP, UP
Not sure if there is any appetite left for 60' hi-cubes, but this car features several good roadnames.

It would be nice to see the MILW high cube 50' double plug door paper cars. They were so common on the Rocky Mountain division.
