Model Railroading > MTH HO SD70ace strippage....

Well...I soaked the 1st HO MTH SD70ACE in 91% alcohol for 3 days, and the paint came off almost as fast as my date's clothes did last night!!! A medium bristle toothbrush, a little scrubbing, and all the paint just vanished. It will require a nice layer or two of primer, but that will be ok....Speed Lettered SP is right around the corner!

I have 6 I am doing. 2 SP Speed Lettered, 1 SSW Cotton Belt, 1 original White KCS, 1 original Mopac Blue, and that leaves 1 that I haven't decided on yet....

You are a good man. SP SD70ACe's should have seen the light of day.

I suspect alcohol may have been a factor in your date's clothing removal also!

How about a Katy green /yellow 70Ace?

If you are comparing your date to a locomotive...you're doing it wrong.

Don't quite know what prompted you to post make such a crass post, but your inclination to do so was wrong.

I wonder which works faster...Cuervo 1800 on your dates clothes or 91% alcohol on MTH paint. Perhaps you could set up your experiment poolside tonight?

Seriously...good to know that the MTH paint strips easily.

Wow....sorry to come off crass and offend anyone. Let me try this again...MTH paint comes off faster than a really super fast train. Take a joke people, don't take life so seriously. It's a hobby, its fun, its about laughing and joking.

Me too. I wouldn't have bothered to say anything else, but for continuing posts affirming the comment.
