More Santa Fe in the attic.
Author: JayK

Most of my February railfanning has been confined to the attic. Here are the results.

Great models, great scenery, great weathering, and great lighting! Hard to beat natural sun light. Well I am just guessing you were outside shooting this? What's up with the random coil car lid on the bottom right? Fall off a coil car?

Indoors, photo floods. The yard has a few coil tops sitting around in case they are needed for replacement.

This is such an outstanding photo. In addition to the lighting, the modeling of the track, perfect scale-size ballast, the wood planking used in the road crossing, the trees and general coloring of the scenery had me completely fooled.

Very nice! Everything looks well done! I really like the grain elevator too!

The "weathering" of the rail, authentic-looking track appliances
between the rails, and the overall scene ---> breathtaking realism!

Thanks for posting the image.

Edited to say: I just noticed there are even a few pieces of "trash"
like a yellow paper on the wood planks, making it even more true-to-life.
Well done!

There are nice things going on in your attic! And who cares if you moved the Apache Ry to New Mexico?

Really good stuff! There's no such thing as too much Santa Fe!

You and I both model the same era and very close to the same area so naturally, I really like what you are doing!

Thanks!

Yes, for about a second I did not realize it was a photo of models. Extremely well done for equipment, track, scenery, and photo.

The track and hazy sky is what makes this scene look almost real. VERY well done.
What roadname are the spine car? Never seen them before on the ATSF.

Walther's Spine Cars lettered ATSF. I added Plano see through end platforms. They still need some weathering.

The only thing that threw it off for me was the crossing flasher leaning over and with over-sized bulbs or LEDS.

I sat and looked at the first picture for a minute or to marveling at its real look. I just love the sky back ground in the first photo . . .it is so accurate in color it just makes everything else look so real. I never realized that I key on the background that much.

That is some of the best lighting I have ever seen. Could you write some info on what you used and how you took the picture? It's as close to sunlight as it gets!
