Model Railroading > Mysterious eBay Purchase...Date: 03/07/14 13:29 Mysterious eBay Purchase... Author: SantaFe9820 I snagged this Atlas U23B off eBay a while ago for only 30 bucks. I'm guessing the patch job is why it went for so little. What I'm wondering is, is this based off a prototype? I can't find any photos on the internet, but ya never know.

Several units were missing do to wrecks and other things. All were originally in the pinstripe but were later painted as you see yours.

nice loco Date: 03/07/14 14:24 Re: Mysterious eBay Purchase... Author: trainmin I believe LTEX is Larry's Trucking. I checked the list of their locomotives and I don't see this number, or unit type.

Author: CR6079 LTEX is Larry's Truck & Electric and in all the years I have been around there I don't think they ever recieved ATSF U23's. While they have had a few GE's on the property Ltex is mostly an EMD rebuilder/leaser/scrapper,this may have been something inspired by the modeler after LTEX recieved large groups of former ATSF GP30'S/35'S.

The roster information is from Gene Gossett. Peter N. Limas Date: 03/07/14 17:40 Re: Mysterious eBay Purchase... Author: SantaFe9820 Alright, thanks guys. I figured it wasnt prototypical! Now my next question is, who wants to turn this into an SF30B for me? :)
